Remington 870-DM-12ga for sale, The 12-gauge Remington 870 DM is a member of the Remington 870 family of pump-action shotguns. The 870 was introduced decades ago. Remington likes proliferating a good thing and now has almost 30 models of the genre.

The 18” 12-gauge barrel 870 DM has five variants: 870 DM Tactical, 870 DM Hardwood, 870 DM Predator, 870 DM Magpul and the base 870 DM. All are chambered for 2 ¾” and 3” shells, with an overall length of 38.5”, 7.5 pound weight and a 6-round detachable box magazine, making them 6+1 guns.

The 870 DM’s trigger guard has both an action-bar safety release (in front) and a fire safety (at back), and the magazine release is nearby, just in front of the beveled magazine well. Naturally, they differ in details beyond this.

The essentially no-frills 870 DM base model is this group’s most affordable. It has a bead sight in front, matte black synthetic stock and a matte blue receiver finish. It has a tactical forend and at back is a comfortable SuperCell recoil pad optimized to absorb felt recoil. The barrel is a cylinder bore design and the grip sides are lightly textured.

The 870 DM Hardwood is essentially the same, but upgrades the forend and stock with hardwood instead of polymer.

The 870 DM Tactical has a pistol grip polymer stock, a ported tube Remington Choke with jagged breaching teeth and a tactical bridge accessory rail. The Tactical has a ghost ring sight set made by XS Sights. The front is a white on black post and the rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.

The 870 DM Predator differs in shape from its 870 siblings due to its ambidextrous synthetic ShurShot stock and tactical fore-end. The stock has span that bridges the pistol grip’s bottom to the rest of the buttstock. It also features a forest friendly Kryptek Highlander camouflage over the barrel, forend and stock. Main contact surfaces such as the grip’s front strap, tube, trigger assembly and guard, ejection port, accessory rail, choke and butt pad are left in their matte finish. The Predator also has TruLock chokes.

Finally, the 870 DM Magpul is like the 870 DM Tactical, with the same ported tube Remington Choke, bridge accessory rail and XS Sights ghost ring sight set made by XS Sights. Where it differs is in its forend and stock, both by Magpul. In front is a Magpul MOE M-LOK Shotgun Forend with, you guessed it, M-LOK slots on either side. This clever design has almost vertical flanks, a rounded bottom and front and rear hand stops. In back is a Magpul SGA shotgun stock that’s adjustable up to 2” for length of pull and has optional cheek risers for optimal eye alignment with different sights.
